The problem with #4: Lifting the retirement age to those with professions that require hard physical labor? This would unfairly punish those at the lower end of the economic scale. Also, if you were to look at the expected lifespan of Americans, what you will find is that: Asian Americans live about as long as the Japanese (nation with the longest average lifespan); Whites live about as long as the average European; Hispanics live on average, longer than whites (and longer than those living in Latin America or Cuba); and African Americans have the shortest average lifespan of any ethnic or racial group.

Taxing income over $90,000 would essentially lift the cap off of the tax side of SS, while keeping a cap on benefits would destroy the basic idea of the plan. This would finally end the idea of Social Security as a Government run social "insurance plan" to a Government social "welfare" program".
