..Kuwait's theft of oil by slant drilling was a proximate cause of Hussein's invasion .. They would be right to reject this idea. Given the relative military strengths of Iraq and Kuwait, if there were wells like this, Iraq could have very easily crossed the border, done a quick "P&A" job on 'em, and gone home. ..interested in getting to the answer to the question "why do they hate us?" Makes me think of Michael Moore's reaction to 911 - he asked why did they attack a state which didn't vote for Bush. Talk about not getting it. I got news for you, they hate all of us, including you self-identified "progressives", as much as they do any Texas "cowboys". More important than why is, what are you gonna do about it?
