I listened to the public report given by the Chancellor. It was a joke. Churchill is not in the least bit of trouble at CU, for the moment. They are going to look into his research methods in more detail and speculated that such an investigation would take another 7 months.

The Chancellor spent most of his microphone time blabbing about how Churchill had not breeched the limits of free speech in the content and rhetoric of his publications or speaking engagements... duh! What a goofball.

If Churchill had done that he would have been charged with crimes against the government, or by private citizens. That is not what the Chancellor was commissioned to investigate.

As a private citizen you can say many things that are ridiculous and stand on your rights to freedom of speech. As a professor who has taken an oath of allegiance you are held to a different standard. There are precedents to determine what is excusable from a professor and what is not, none of it has anything to do with freedom of speech, and none of it was taken into consideration by the Chancellor... he was asked pointed questions about that from reporters ... he just looked at them like they were aliens or something.

CU is now known only as the home of the Ward Churchill, instead of a research one institution that has a long history of high standards in academic credibility.

The Chancellor did NOT take the bull by the horns, he danced around it like a scared bunny in a tutu. His voice was shaking the whole time and he couldn't answer simple questions of standards related to his study.

Doesn't anybody in this country want to stand up and do their dang job anymore? This is getting absurd... criminy
