I am way out west and where I grew up was in eastern Washington state. I just didn't know much about Lymes because it wasn't around. Like you said, if it didn't show up in CT until the 70's, maybe it wasn't around in the 50s and 60s, there either(the time frame I was referring to) although I haven't heard of anyone contacting it now. Maybe it mutated out of some other disease, similar to Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I am just thinking out loud as I really don't have a clue about this subject.

Henry Niman, who posts here, might have some thoughts.
