DLGI FDNY Awards DataLogic a Five-Year, $6 Million IT Contract

GARDEN GROVE, Calif., May 29, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --
DataLogic Consulting, Inc., the wholly owned information technology (IT)
subsidiary of DataLogic International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DLGI), today
announced that the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) has awarded
the Company an IT services contract valued at approximately $6,000,000 for the
next five years.

Under the terms of this contract, the Company will provide professional IT
consulting services at the various FDNY facilities located within the five
boroughs of the City of New York. This onsite computer programming project
engagement will commence on or about June 24, 2002, and will continue until the
expiration of five consecutive years or until such time as the company has
reached a total of approximately $6,000,000 in billings.

In an effort to meet the demands stemmed from a steady increase of governmental
spending, the Company has recently placed added emphasis on its governmental
sales and marketing effort. This contract award confirms that the Company's new
initiative in pursuing this market segment, as a complement to its existing
commercial business, is a logical and sound business growth strategy, one that
will build the Company revenue stream and brings values to its shareholders.

Derek Nguyen, President and CEO of DataLogic, commented, "All of us at DataLogic
share great sorrow with those who suffered in person the tragedy of September
11th. Our new customer FDNY has witnessed and survived some of the most horrific
acts of violence in recent memory, and all of us at DataLogic are proud to be
working with them. We are delighted to add the FDNY to our list of governmental
clients and are ready to provide them with all necessary support in rebuilding
its IT resources."

Nigel Kaiyanni, Chief Operating Officer, added, "It is a distinct honor and a
great privilege for us to have been awarded a major contract by our country's
most revered fire rescue organization, The Fire Department of The City of New
York. We believe that our experience in providing quality information technology
services, combined with our emphasis on serving the governmental sector, has
earned us this major contact. We eagerly look forward to serving this highly
respected organization in the years to come."
