We welcome Mr. Guilders point of view just as we welcome all points of view here. However, there are technically knowledgable people on SI who may be critical of all the hype that is being flung wide. I am a EE working in the field of fiber optic communications and any "visionary" predictions that are made here will have to stand the acid test of technical peer review. I have read some of Mr. Guilders articles in the past and have been amused at some of his technical inaccuracies. I would strongly caution everyone here to keep a healthy level of skepticism. Mr. Guilder, while an astute observer, does not have any special talent to predict the future of communications IMHO. Let the buyer beware! Tim
