Off topic?! Not really.

Mr. Emery was telling a Seattle/WTO demonstrator why his efforts were futile, as follows:

"Jesus said "The poor we will always have with us." It was that way then and its that way now. You are not going to fix it."

I responded with:

"What a grand design and decree by Jesus, to demand that millions of children live in poverty and starvation.

Do you know if Jesus eats popcorn or shrimps as he enjoys watching children starve?

Just because Jesus decides to do nothing doesn't mean other well meaning, ethical people must do nothing."

This isn't "anti-Christ shit", except for, perhaps, my little caricature of Jesus and the shrimp.

If someone is going to tell someone that their efforts are all in vain because Jesus has so decreed that millions of people will suffer poverty because of God's plan, then I will question why man has to do nothing just because Jesus decides to do nothing.

In other words, I only responded to a post which was against an individual's activism at the WTO conference.

If I have offended anyone by questioning the lack of compassion in a religious dogma, I am forced to humbly apologize for those beliefs.
