Robin:

I am not as upset as Richard M is because, it was a very short period of time, and to have that kind of viral load reduction is pretty durn good. I mean, what if these folks were on this drug for 6 months, then yes Robin, we might be at the levels obtained through the new AIDS drugs.

People are losing sight of two things: the new merk drug, like AZT is LOADED with side effects. The AndroVir study had 1 person will an allergy. Somebody post here tonight all the side effects of AZT. Its a little more than an allergic reaction.

The 2nd thing is that the cost is so tremendously low. The merk compound is 5oK a year, for starters. Anyone want to bet it will go up?

One last thought. Read the AP article about the merk drug. After 9 months, the virus begins replicating again. All the drug does is delay the onset of AIDS.

I am not thrilled with the paracelsian news today, but its not all that bad either. Paul is right, they start shipping in 3 months, they have the customers. I hope they start working on the extended test to see what happens to the patients 9-12 months later. if the virus is held at bay, then this beats the crap out of the merk drug.
