If you just look at what the primary Tesla supplier, STM, and the rumored supplier, Onsemi, have been doing it doesn't seem unreasonable:
1) STM has done multiple die shrinks since Tesla adopted their SiC. Depending on what generation die Tesla is using that could lead to a sizable reduction.
2) Onsemi likes to talk about doing the same job with less SiC chips. Thus upping the power density.
3) Changing to a 800V battery could factor into it

A wild card could be they are using a Wolfspeed like equation.
4) 75% decrease from what? From current generation drive unit or the first?
5) Is all of the SiC on the drive unit? Is that just the inverter or does it include on-board charger?

Regardless deflation needs to happen to lead to broader adoption. So not necessary a bad thing. Just have to grow faster than the deflation.
