Dan Marusich, manager of the Internet Communications Group at Apple, oversees the daily operation of the Apple Store.
MacCentral: Since the store's debut, how have sales held up? Are they growing, holding steady or declining?
Marusich: The traffic and sales have varied according to what product launches and pricing actions we've taken. There've been some really great sales spikes, but nothing so out of ordinary they're worth reporting. Overall, the site has exceeded our expectations. We've had tremendous success in selling our products not only through the Apple Store, but in general and that's been reflected through Apple Store sales.
He seems to be saying that sales at the "store" are better than expected, but inline with the overall success of Apple total sales.
MacCentral: Are the quarterly goals on target?
Marusich: Well, we're just finishing up our first full quarter, so we don't have any quarterly results yet, though the store has been meeting our expectations. We're very happy with the results and, overall, things seem to be going really, really well.
Here he only said "meeting" expectations, but then adds "really, really well". Hmmm ... |
