I'd like to see some of the no pain crowd go one week without food or water and tell us how fun it is.

Speaking of pain, I've been hospitalized for surgery enough times to know that there's a lot that isn't much fun. It's been my experience that even simple things like an IV or a catheter get pretty sore after a day or two, enough that, when you're just lying in a hospital bed, it's hard to not dwell on the pain. I would imagine that a feeding tube would be at least as bad. And I wouldn't want to have to suffer through any of them for an extended period of time.
