Dak, there is no realistic solution, all words and hopes. To come close to solution there must be radical change and that may be, .... can be achieved only by force or war. A full layer of terrorists must be eliminated and tradition of hundred of years of educating children to hate any one but it's own must be also eliminated.
The Ottoman empire grew in power by adopting same tactic children groomed as killing objects, to fight and get killed in wars (the Yenicers (spl?) were the most gruesome worriers against Europe. Same tactics are now adopted by the PLO, Jiad, Hezbelah, Hamas and others of same ilk.
Further Arabs in the area have a fertility rate of close to 7 children per woman, life expectancy over 70 years, Boy to girls ration 105 to 100 so 5% of the male population is at a dead end due to the Islamic mentality even more so that those with money may marry more than on woman. 45% to 50% of the population are kids who need working places in a few years.

Just think from were those jobs will come and how can a family exist as a normal family with so many children, not to mention poor education continuous incitement and brainwash to hate any thing resembling Western Civilization. For similar reasons Ahatollah's and Saddam are still in power and the western world does not understand, they just do not get it, others have complete different approach to social order and do not value life except their own.
Even if Israelis will disappear in thin air tomorrow the region will continue to be explosive one as it can not maintain such population growth............ and keep in mind that rich Saudi Arabia has many living in poverty and unemployed ....... and they are rich ........... also from Algiers to Pakistan there is a less publicized war between the sects for same economic and social reason. Islamic clerics want to hold to power on the expense and by oppression of their own population like in Afghanistan and Iran.
Were there are no Jews Islamic fundamentalist kill other Arabs (Algiers, Afganistan, Egypt) Indians (Pakistan, Bangaldesh) Chinise (Indonesia) Philipines .
All wars have an economic underlining and in this specific case I do not see any long term solution even if an agreement will be reached.
The first step IMHO is to change leadership to intellectual and moderate elements within the Arab World (like the King of Marrocco or Jordan) and second for the Arab world to do what China and India has done ........ slow population growth and turn it negative only after that there is a chance. ........... in a generation or two.
