Kanakaris Booth Is Overwhelemed With Inquiries From Hundreds Of Publishers and Authors
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 1999-- Kanakaris Communications Inc. (OTC BB:KANA) was the center of attention at Book Expo America in Los Angeles, ended Sunday, May 2, with its NetBooks.Com(TM) booth offering publishers free online distribution and multiple Internet revenue streams with proprietary ION(TM) security features.
Several Kanakaris representatives answered questions from hundreds of publishers and authors intrigued by the company's ''Securable, Readable, Accessible and Affordable'' online book delivery system.
Among the Partner Agreements signed by Kanakaris for NetBooks during the show is one with acclaimed romance publisher LionHearted.
Mary Ann Heathman, president and chief executive officer of LionHearted Publishing Inc., stated, ''Multiple-award winning Romance publisher, LionHearted Publishing Inc., has chosen to release its electronic novels and also its paperback titles in NetBooks.Com form due to the many options and flexibility which Kanakaris offers to consumers.''
''LionHearted believes the new technologies offered by NetBooks.Com will be embraced by many publishers who have been reluctant to publish in digital formats due to security and delivery concerns,'' Heathman added.
LionHearted is not only a multiple award winning publisher, it is also a ground-breaking publishing house, as it is the first paperback publisher of romance to advance into electronic books, and the first publisher of electronic books on the web to receive the highest review ratings offered by Affaire do Coeur magazine for its title ''The Alliance'' by Patricia Waddell.
Other LionHearted titles to be available as NetBooks which have won national awards are ''ORACLE'' by Katherine Greye, winner of two Holt Medallion Awards for outstanding fiction, Best Paranormal and Best First Book, and a finalist for the Romance Writer's of America RITA Award. Romantic Times proclaimed, ''If you have only one book to read this month, this should be it.''
Rhonda Thompson's ''Isn't It Romantic?'' is a finalist in the National Reader's Choice Award for Best Contemporary Romance of the Year and also a finalist by Under the Cover Book Reviews. Other Lion Hearted titles included in the electronic distribution alliance with Kanakaris and its web site NetBooks.Com include:
''Undercover Love'' by Lucy Grijalva, ''Destiny's Disguise'' by Candice Kohl, ''Forever, My Knight'' by Lee Ann Dansby, ''Something in Common'' by Anita Kynn, ''Turnagain Love'' by Nancy Radke, ''Unbridled'' by Delores Fossen, ''My Captain Jack'' by Diane Drew, ''Yesterday Once More'' by Karen Culver, and ''Spirit of the Heart'' by Barbara Cary.
