As for NSCP, how, exactly, were they supposed to succeed as a software business when the "free market" price of their products gets zeroed? From the very beginning, in response to criticism of their browser being freely downloadable with no mechanism to enforce payment, Netscape said that they planned to make their money selling the server-side software and not the client-side software. Any money earned from the browser was going to be gravy. All Microsoft's done in this regard is to say "Hold the gravy."
