I would think there could be a lot of female support and solidarity in such a marriage. I don't know for sure, but I do know that being in a nuclear marriage can be lonely and sometimes the burdens involved can be hard to shoulder alone. If your extended polygamous family was supportive I can see how it would be a tremendous help. I can also see how it might be destructive. So it's probably a lot like marriages that involve two people- a lot depends on the folks involved.
