As I understand it, the Catholic church does not require a person to exploit all available and possible medical technology to the absolute bitter end in all case. So by your definition suicide must be acceptable to Catholics under some circumstances.

If Christopher Reves could have been kept alive for another hour, but wasn't that mean he was murdered, no?
