NC's are mostly for corporate use. But there are several uses for
the consumer:
1) Suppose e-mail becomes as widespread as telephone usage.
We have pay telephones all over the place, why not dot the country
with pay-terminals? NCs have a use here.
2) Since connectivity with a server is built in, it may make
a terrific portable. As in, do your stuff on the train with the NC, beam it onto your $1000 desktop when you get home. Kinda like a
Palm Pilot or Newton with a keyboard.
