Very interesting. It makes me think that the reason we're going to win is that AQ doesn't get what makes democracies stable - the formation of a middle class with a stake in the system. They keep saying 'if we make 5% of Muslims our followers, we'll have an unbeatable army'. Unbeatable to do what? Terrorize the other 95% into cooperation? But they don't think they have to do that, because their model for a state is the Arab model - a small ruling elite, where the mass of people have little say. Turn 5% of that country into your followers, and you might be able to take power. AQ has this in common with the current rules of what they call "puppet states" - they regard the people as sheep.
