I hear you Chinu...my concern is that people are using long-formed opinions of extreme environmentalists to inform their opinions right now..... I don't at all consider myself extreme...I drive a gas-only car that gets 30mpg, for example..... The data re: how much harm KXL can do is quite substantive, imo.... SS and I have been posting it on these boards.... The movie "Gasland" is also informative. The US left holding the proverbial bag because studies show we will not get any more oil from Canada until the 2020-2030 range, a few thousand short-lived jobs, and the HUGE long term impact of producing this product which requires much more carbon, water and gas than conventional crude...... The terminus of this pipeline is in a "tax free zone" and therefore, the US(american people) won't make a dime on the enormous revenues of this oil that is exported to China.... We can easily put those few thousand men and women to work on alternative energy sources. Europe also does not like GMO crops....Monsanto does.....who do I trust more? Well, I imagine you can guess!
