Most recently it means defending the Bill of Rights and the Constitutional right of every American citizen to due process. It means that our government is not allowed to detain or search us without a court order. It means that our government cannot kill us unless we are convicted of a crime by a jury of our peers and sentenced to death by the court. Unfortunately, Obama just destroyed all of those rights when he signed the NDAA. Whatever he got in return for the destruction of our Constitutional rights was NOT worth it. Expedience be damned. Anyone who becomes an apologist for Obama's signing of that law will lose all of my respect. How can anyone respect someone who would give up their fundamental Freedoms so easily?
