One year I had part interest in a 200 acre backwater lake that was about 3' deep and full of wild millet that grew during the summer when it was dry. For a week about 10,000 ducks would fly in from the river during the last half hour of light. About 95% were woodies. We were next to a golf course that was on 50' higher ground and the golfers complained about the noise.

When a woodie is flying you can see them move their heads back and forth looking around.
