IMHO the carnage we have experienced in the junior PM stocks over the last few months is the worst since this bull market in PMs and PMs started. It seems particularly vexing given the strong, broad strength in commodities and strong performance of HUI.

I am not sure what the exact reason(s) are for the type of decimation we have seen, other than the following:

-poor HUI:Gold (now at ~.46)
-general aversion to small company risk
-(seeming) expanding number of jrs
-lots of dilution amongst jrs
-questionable future economics of projects given rapidly escalating construction costs

If anyone else has any ideas I would be interested in hearing them.

Also, I haven't found an index that seems to accurately quantify the degree and scope of the decline...
