Maureen Dowd recently wrote a travel piece for the NYTimes on a trip to someplace in the Caribbean (Mexico?) with her sister, entitled "Girls Gone Mild." They stayed at a five star hotel and had complimentary massages and drinks and had a good time.

Not a bad lifestyle, if you could do that for a living.

The Grand Old Man of the NYTimes Style section, Johnny Apple, gets sent all over the world and bloviates about just about anything that strikes his fancy. His latest screed was about Virginia hams. The one I recall before that one was written circa the inauguration, about eating out in the DC metro area.

Maybe MoDowd envies him. I do.
