<<$5 million to $20 million to achieve "market differentiator" status. >>
stockman, one might think that market differentiator status includes netp's collaborative " solution " ( good word, but damn, if it ain't the most over used word in the english language today---yes, water is a great drink solution not to mention food--good hunger solution...sorry).
I visit about 20 or so sites a month, about 5 of them e-commerce and so far Amazon and CD BLVD are the only ones I've experienced collaborative software at work.....and it works. I've bought a few items based on the recs based upon the software's evaluation of my own profile's data.
Good and scary.
Scary...reminds me a little of the bumper sticker: I ONLY DO WHAT MY RICE KRISPIES TELL ME TO DO----soon to be replaced by I ONLY CHOOSE WHAT MY PORTAL TELLS ME TO CHOOSE BASED UPON PAST PURCHASES, MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION HISTORY, COLOR PREFERENCE, PLACE OF BIRTH, PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE HISTORY ( if you loved Prozac, you're gonna really get off on? ), EDUCATED GUESS AT POLITICAL AFFILIATION, WHERE I LIVE, etc. etc. etc.......excuse the hyperbole.
Good...15 million to 20 million!? ka-ching! yes, just a portion goes to the likes of a netp. but i'll take it.
