Motorola's Multimedia Group has signed a contract with Singapore Cable Vision Ltd. (SCV) to provide CyberSurfr cable modems and routers for a market trial. As part of the contract, Motorola will supply an initial order of 2,100 cable modems and 20 cable routers over the next 12 months. This will provide SCV the system capacity to support over 40,000 cable modems, said Motorola. The initial public trial is expected to last until mid-1998 at which time a commercial rollout is scheduled to begin.
