Agree they can be safer. You can also expect lower premiums on writing CC's on the QQQ's & DIA's. Since they will have a lower beta to any of the individual stocks in the ETF, the premium will be lower to reflect it.

Actually, in a market like this, a little more safety isn't such a bad thing.
