AMD is holding up quite well but volume is very low. I think we need the heavy institutional buying back to move the stock higher and break out of the current downward trend.

My new strategy du jour is to just buy puts and calls on AMD and capitalize on the swings.

How do you exactly time your sales? I think the strategy is very good in the current situation but it seems difficult to sell the puts/call at the right time. Or are you just speculation that AMD goes down/up that much that your puts/call go up >100% (and thus compensating the losses )? Since the trading after the earnings CC should be extremely volatile, your strategy could work. I think there could be a >20% swing either upward (good guidance, strong numbers) or downward (confirming PC slowdown).
