Charleston was evacuated already with stop and go traffic all along the Florida, GA, SC coast headed west. Yesterday, the traffic flow picked up to 20 mph at Tallahassee, 200 miles from the Atlantic. People looking for motels were directed to Alabama or Mississippi.

With any luck, the lovely city of Charleston will be spared the worst. The Weather Channel has it headed due north with the possibility of it continuing to curve to the east. This would mean the strongest winds will be to the east and north of the eye, sparing Charleston.
