Mostly the over-reaction in the market but also the long-term potential. There will be a lot of companies that shake out of this space but also a few real winners. There are now about 20 companies in or planning/claiming to soon have product in the fixed wireless market. Most of these are discussed here but a few new companies, some of them funded by major telecoms, will try to emerge from the R&D stage. That's one of the problems with the sector - like the early stages of the PC industry it is fairly open to new technological innovation and a confusion of participants. A lot of the little guys will either get absorbed or extinguished as they fail to get volume commitments and run out of cash. There is no company with that got out ahead of others to the extent of a Qualcom in the wireless PCS area. So, overall I see this sector as staying highly speculative for some time to come. The safer plays will probably be far less rewarding than some of the small guys. The sector looks pretty well beaten down so that some generous returns should be seen over the next twelve to 18 months.
