JDN, All I know is what I was told. I might add that my Mother was not beyond bending the truth to suit her opinions, but I did know that the Catholic church was against divorce, and marriage with a non-Catholic. I had the worst scenario pounded into my mind from childhood, and some of it stuck from personal experience, but I cannot be absolutely sure that her story was completely accurate.
At any rate, all of that is in the past, which cannot be changed regardless of the details, and I believe that every person has the right to worship whatever supreme being they wish, and in any way they wish, as long as it does not harm society in doing so.
As far as I am concerned, anyone that truly believes in the Supreme Being that English speaking people call God, and in the goodness, and wisdom, of Jesus Christ, they are fine with me. |
