averaging down in this case is a smart move. smart money buys at the bottom. this stock is at the bottom and is heading up, over time. buying the franchisers was a smart move, over time.. their losers has nothing to do with reality. remmember, they paid off interest, paid off portions of the loans, paid themselves salaries,etc,then they had a loss for uncle sam. wonder why?<grin> so, the company does not lose money buying the stores. it gets the value of the stores. yes, its december and some sell for tax losss. if you are a day trader..different conversation if you are an investor looking at a bargain then this is one of many available. i od not own this one i bought bost their friends instead.. i watch this one for clues about bost as they are related..
