Lycos Taps Oracle8i to Power Bustling e-Business Hub

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Oracle today has announced that Lycos, Inc. has moved key components of its popular Web site network to Oracle8i, Oracle's flagship e-business platform. As the most visited hub on the Internet, reaching 51.8% of the Internet audience (source: Media Metrix), the Lycos Network now includes four top 20 websites - Lycos.com, Tripod, Angelfire, and HotBot.
By moving to Oracle8i, Lycos can provide users with faster access to the information on its sites and can deliver more up-to-the-minute reports to advertisers on the effectiveness of various ad campaigns.
