I have never been west of Seaside in FL or east of Bay St Louis in MS. The gulf waters and the sand in the FL panhandle that I've seen is amazing. Much better value in SW FL if you are into boating or fishing..many more bays and inland waterways feeding the gulf.. Also hurricane threat of a game changing event in that part of the gulf + TX and SE Florida including the keys is much higher than say Clearwater or even Ft Myers....
