Bolton Filibuster Is Merely An Anti-Bush Protest

That is, according to Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd:

Mr. Dodd said he actually supports an up-or-down vote on Mr. Bolton, but is being forced into a filibuster as a protest against the administration.

I have no doubts that every filibuster (or threat to filibuster) by the Democrats has merely been an anti-Bush protest. Does anyone believe that Senator Dodd alone believes that giving nominees an up-or-down vote is the right thing to do?

Or perhaps it's just that too many Democrats believe that "extraordinary circumstance" means "nominated by President Bush."
