With many new tablets using Tegra3 and OMAP processors, it's not clear to me that QCOM Snapdragon is increasing its penetration into this market. Given that Apple has more than 70% of the market, what share of the remaining 30% is held by Snapdragon. Seems to me it's 30% to 40% at best, which means only about 10% of the entire tablet market.

As to the smartphone market, it appears that QCOM has a strong position in the radio chip side of the business, due in large part to the iPhone 4S, but again, the percentage of QCOM chips in other phones seems to be at best about 40%. If anyone has more details on the actual number of smartphones and tablets shipped with QCOM mobile station modems and/or processors, I would appreciate an update.
