It was meant, at the time that Donald Trump said it, to interrogate what the hell was going on with regard to "terrorist type" activities and incursions into America, until such time as a better understanding could be obtained with regard to Jihadi Extremists whose basic religion stems from the Islamic/Muslim faith. It doesn't stem from the Catholic faith, or the Anglican faith, or the Lutheran faith, or the Baptist faith, or the Congregational faith, or ...... any other primarily Christian faith.
You have to wonder why it's so difficult for anyone with a modicum of intelligence to grasp that simple aspect.
And in addition, it wasn't Trump's intention to "ban Muslims" from America for all eternity. It was a temporary measure and one based on what his predecessor advocated but DID NOTHING ABOUT !!
And further .... Donald Trump did not advocate a ban on ALL COUNTRIES THAT WERE PREDOMINANTLY MUSLIM !! .... there were NUMEROUS countries that are predominantly Muslim that he did not include in his ban directive, for heaven's sake !!
