Dear Jim:

Yes the IRS gets increased revenue for the productive use of the customers time. You know those people actually doing work. They don't have to sit on their hands waiting for the system, waiting for it to come up, figuring out what went wrong, and waiting for it to come down. Oh and the increased time being fustrated rather than working.

DOJ has been in the techs before. Remember IBM? Most companies allow you to customize your computer. The problem I have with Microsoft, is that they allowed the Application Division, (Read Office), to dictate how Windows NT works, APIs and all (so that they would not have to recode (and probably fix many bugs and problems). This had the effect of putting all the bugs and idiosyncracies of DOS and Windows back into NT. This leaves me with very little confidence in either OS or Office. With them being separated, this tradegy would never have been allowed to come to pass.

But you want to blame government. Blame Bill Gates and his ego. They lost you a good deal of what they made you. If he is responsible for the positive times, he is also responsible for being arrogant when the situation called for tact. He got away with stealing, now he does not want to take the blame.

Pete
