I saw many TEA Party members with weapons slung over their shoulders at TEA Party rallies. i'm a second amendment advocate, so i don't mind seeing people carry weapons. not even lefties. weapons aren't meant to intimidate when holstered or slung over the shoulder. and you meet the nicest people at guns shows. you'd be surprised how polite everyone is. i know you don't, but i feel safer when almost everyone is carrying a weapon. years ago i worked in the alaskan bush. nearly everyone wore a sidearm or packed a rifle. no one was the slightest bit intimidated or put off by anyone carrying a weapon, even if you didn't have one yourself. as a matter of fact, showing interest or admiration of someone's weapon was a good icebreaker to get to know him or her. the norway nut wouldn't have gotten many kids if the adults there were packin'. kids shouldn't and don't need to carry weapons, but adults sure should. But, just maybe they were trying to keep the peace rather than intimidating! yes, being peaceful is natural when there are lots of weapons around. but the main reason weapons should be carried is to exercise and maintain our right to bear arms. stats in other countries say that you're more likely to be murdered when tight gun control is enacted. if you don't believe me, go to the second amendment thread and read some of the posts or ask someone there. many have the stats at hand, i don't. australia is one of the countries that has proven gun control to be hazardous to citizens health. most mass murderers wouldn't be too brave when many of their intended victims are packin'..
