"The setup today is so incredible here in Florida."

20+ years ago we spent considerable time in Florida each winter. We spent several weeks in virtually every populated area on both the East and West coasts (including the Keys which I disdained from the first time I set foot on them) and felt that it would be a great place to retire to or own a second home. Due to some unforseen circumstances we did not buy at the time.

In the late 90's we again went back to fulfill our dream only to find out that the dream was no longer available.

The entire character of Florida had seemed to change. People were no longer friendly, but pushy. Traffic was up considerably. Homes and businesses had that used up look like a 50 year old hooker. Many of those we met seemed to have drifted to Florida from other locations looking for work and as poor as dirt farmer. Streets we one time found fascinating and safe now appeared to be in a cycle of degradation.

Now, I don't even visit Florida. Other than the climate in winter it has little to offer IMO.
