I am glad you asked.....to do (blank) italics, do at the beginning of the sentence, then a (blank) at the end of the sentence.

blank 1 =s <> with an "i" in between the 2 parens.
blank 2 =s <> with an "/i" in between the 2 parens.

To do it in bold, its similar...(blank) at the beginning, then (blank) at the end.

blank 1 =s <> with a "b" in between the 2 parens.
blank 2 =s <> with a "/b" in between the 2 parens.

Let me know if you understand. If I actually showed you the correct characters as they would appear at the beginning and end of a sentence, all you would see is the italicized or bold sentence and not the characters themselves.
