Gus ( Why do I feel like a 50 year old flag football player who just saw Troy Aikman join the game?) - I reread your post a couple times and have a slightly better understanding of it than the first time I read it. Would you be kind enough to very s-l-o-w-l-y explain the implications of the technology you've brought into the discussion? When is this going to come into play? What is involved in the production of DSMR heads? Is there much of a transition between MR heads and these? Is this an intermediate stage between MR and GMR or a step beyond or IS this the GMR head technology? My apologies for my ignorance, but you have just introduced an entirely new issue (to me, at least) into the consideration of just which company is going to most profitably produce disk drive heads over the next year or so.
