the truth is that health care costs were bound to rise dramatically regardless of what was done.

They are going to rise no matter what, so what do we do? If you need an operation that costs $1 million what are you going to do? What should medicare do? At some point there is not enough money and you can't ask others to pay for your $1 million operation.
