Intel issues profit warning
Intel Corp., citing sluggish demand, said it
expects first quarter profits to be below
expectations and revenues to be down
about 10 percent from the fourth quarter of
1997. The giant chipmaker previously had
forecast flat revenues. Intel also said
gross margins would be lower than
expected due to weaker orders from PC
makers during the quarter.
