It would explain...at least to me, why 3Com gave two concessions in a row, I've been taught never to give a concession without getting one, AND never give two in a row, which, it appeared to me 3Com had done in the standards meeting.

If 3Com has the confidence that they will adapt to the agreed on standard at an accelerated pace along with the savings in cost, all given to them by their software, than they are playing their ace in the hole at the time when it could give them the most gain.

As time goes on and 56K is delayed, it will go the way of ISDN and never see or come close to it's potential due to the lack of implementation, that alone justifies one concession, it brings life to a comatose 56K market. NOW if an advantage exists, which would weigh heavy toward 3Com's side, it justifies the second concession.

I will be looking for further substantiation of the statement in the days to come because it may indicate a large increase in market share....or loss!...not only in regards to 3Com.

Oh btw I won't be worrying about overheating and fires in the x2 equipment racks. :o}
