Hello Scott I appreciate your candid response. I think we both basically are looking for the same end result. I'd be a happy camper if I thought the company was honestly doing everything it could to obtain our goals. Technology wise I believe that to be the case. The internal refocusing that Bob Frankenburg instituted seems to have carried on.

In order to make big waves and stop turning "like an ocean liner" (per one of the analysts) the BOD must be gutted, IMO of course. Eric Schmidt certainly deserves a chance, but as has been noted in the trade rags, he lacks the experience of a seasoned CEO. Seems like a big chance, unless, as I suspect, the mysterious, ex-ceo and chairman is still really in control, in which case I will probably sell my stock and just take the damn loss.

I believe the internal forces created by the old blood (in particular John Young, the ancient board and Joe Marengi) would be very intimidating to a young guy like Schmidt and leave little room for major differences in opinion. We shall see.

Scott, can you verify that Dr Schmidt started yesterday. I understand that some of Novell employees aren't sure either.

Thanks
