Former judges might be more attractive to larger legal firms. The experience would give them experience and maturity which should benefit their litigation clients. If it became programmatic the market would respond and they would be accommodated.

You are correct in pointing out the potential pitfall of term limiting the judiciary. Another unintended consequence would be the requirement of appointing many more judges. On the federal bench with Democrats causing a delay averaging over three years, you would need fifty percent more judicial posts to accommodate their unconstitutional behavior.
