Hi Jim! I am not concerned about the abilities or work done by any of the 'technical people' at Novell ... I think my opinions are shared by the majority of posters and probably most of the lurkers as well.

I am past the point of being concerned about Novell's Management, and now want to see that Management 're-structured' ... to see the 'bureauacrats' and 'politicians' in the Management organization turfed out. For more than a year we've seen opportunity after opportunity missed by Novell, FUD based on false or misleading information taken as accurate statements by the press ... all the good technical work of the Novell programmers and engineers (even if they work 100 hour weeks) won't be enough to persuade potential customers to buy your products until Novell's 'market position' is improved to the point that the company looks like a market leader again.

Novell's management is at best ineffective ... possibly even incompetent! Even if the individual people that comprise the Management staff at Novell are capable, competent people ... the results that the whole 'management team' has produced is unacceptable.

A number of us are working at trying to force some management changes at Novell so that your hard work and the work of many other capable Novell people actually results in a substantial increase in sales ... recruiting Eric Schmidt is a good start, but it's not enough ... the whole managment team has to do a lot better!

Please don't get discouraged personally ... we need to keep the good technical work going strong. Getting to the point about the NSCP port to Netware ... why wasn't it done in March of '96? .... I think the answer will be more related to a poor management decision than significant technical problems.

We're not 'shooting at you' ... but the Managers around you, try to keep your head down until the 'Management situation' improves ... I hope it's very soon.
