This is not going away. Bush and Cheney will not be able to travel outside of the US except possibly to China. The AG's office has to get to the bottom of this. The sooner the better. The only chance that Bush and Cheney has is if this is resolved before Obama leaves office. He may be the only one to be able to issue pardons and get away with it.
