The Tea Party protesters that Republican activists want to see stirred up and active have some major divergences on those social issues with the moderate swing voters who decide how Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, and Florida go each election. IMHO Gingrich would serve just as well as Palin as the Republicans' Walter Mondale experience; he has high personal negatives nationwide and a strident message that will come across as anti-everything bashing. Until the Reps have a leader and a message for a positive program for voters, they will be screaming in the wilderness.
