Hi Christine,
There was no real beginning to the CW story. When we bought this place, CW claimed the poolhouse for his junior year, but we didn't feel he was ready. We are letting him try it this summer. You should know us well enough to know there are no females allowed out there!!!!
If he violates any of the rules, he's back in the big house.
Rules are that he's responsible for keeping it clean. Also for keeping the back yard mowed and edged and the pool area clean. Last night, he and his girl had dinner with us and then we all went out for ice cream. She has a 10:00 curfew even on weekends, so that's not a problem. Between working fulltime, keeping up his model UN duties, his business, running and swimming, CW hasn't the time or energy to get into much trouble. He even came in yesterday morning and made waffles for the family, he's that happy. It was just time for him to have a little more space. And his music was driving me crazy.

As for laundry, he knows how. I just prefer doing it. I absolutely agree that kids need to learn these things. I went away to college and my roommate had to show me how to use a washing machine and change my sheets. I had never made a bed or done a wash in my life. I used my piano as an excuse (Can't work, Mom! I'm PRACTICING! And she bought it. Although actually, she was pretty controlling and I think preferred doing everything her way-I just messed things up)

Yesterday, the boys and I went to Sam's and bought 225.00 worth of food. Summer is most definitely here.
